Another thing that changes throughout the light years is the chance of encountering a Shiny Pokémon. The further you go, the higher the chance that the Pokemon you get will be a Shiny Pokemon, and the wormhole also affects the 5000 light year limit by 36% on Type 4 wormholes.
The formulas below give the odds of finding a bright per type of wormhole.
type 1
1 %; Highest rarity: 1%
type 2
1+(min(9,((LightYear/500)-1))%; Major rarity: 10%
Type 3
1+2(min(9,((LightYear/500)-1))%; Major rarity: 19%
type 4
4(min(9,((LightYear/500)-1))%; Major rarity: 36%
Using 1000 light years, the percentage probability of finding a bright one can be calculated as follows:
- Type 1: 1%
- Type 2: 2%
- Type 3: 3%
- Type 4: 4%
When introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon, Ultra Space only granted the player access to the world of Nihilego. However, with the release of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Ultra Space has been greatly expanded and many new worlds and features are available. In this guide, you'll learn everything you need to know about Ultra Space, from the Legendary Pokemon available to the chances of encountering a Shiny Pokemon.
where to start
The portal that allows the player to enter Ultra Space is located in the Altar of the Sunne (Ultra Sun) or Altar of the Moone (Ultra Moon), which can be accessed directly from the Ride Pager by going to the north area of the flies. Old Pony Trail. All areas discussed in this guide are only accessible through this portal. Before you begin, consider the following:
- You can come across countless Legendary Pokémon, Shiny Pokémon, and even Ultra Beasts, so it's important to be prepared.
- The Pokemon you encounter and its Shiny stat are determined from the moment you enter a wormhole, so a soft reset for a different Pokemon or a Shiny Pokemon won't work.
- This does not apply to Legendary Pokemon and Ultra Beasts, which are regular stationary encounters so you can reset your game to find Shinies. The chances of these Pokémon to be shiny are the same as the basic chances of being shiny in games: 1/4096. If you have the Shiny Charm, your odds are 3/4096.
- All other aspects of the Pokémon are determined in the encounter and can therefore be reset. This includes nature, IVs, and whether or not the Pokemon drops an item after battle.
- The item itself is default, so you can't reset to another item.
- The item drop mechanic does not apply to Legendary Pokémon and Ultra Beasts.
- Every Pokemon caught in Ultra Space has at least three perfect IVs out of 31 in random stats.
change of controls
The default method of traveling through the Ultra Wormhole is to use tilt controls, but this can be changed to D-Pad controls after the first run by speaking to the Aether Foundation staff member at Game Freak's office in Heahea City. . In general, it is recommended to use the D-Pad for controls, as it makes general control easier.
Paseo ultra warp
After entering the portal in Solgaleo or Lunala, you will start to see many orange energy orbs appearing in the wormhole. The more of these orbs you collect, the faster your legend will travel. However, hitting one of the blue energy orbs will make your legendary slower and more likely to be pulled into a wormhole. You can change if you are traveling in Solgaleo or Lunala by going to Ultra Megalopolis and talking to Soliera (Ultra Sun) or Zossie (Ultra Moon). If you get too far away, Solgaleo is preferable to Lunala, as Lunala's wings can obstruct vision and increase vulnerability to blue energy orbs.
wormholes
You will soon notice the different colors of the wormholes in Ultra Space. Each one leads to a different location depending on the color. As you travel further, you may discover some wormholes with rings of light around them, increasing your chances of finding Legendaries and Shinies inside. Collect orange energy orbs while avoiding as many blue energy orbs as possible to gain speed over time, reach much greater distances, and find rare Pokémon.
types of wormholes
The probability of finding different types of wormholes in Ultra Space can be found in the table below. Distance is the only factor used to determine the probability of each type of wormhole occurring. The type of wormhole affects the chance of finding a Shiny in that wormhole and also determines which Ultra Beast world will appear in a white wormhole. In this guide, each type of wormhole is numbered.
- type 1= No rings.
- type 2= A ring.
- Type 3= Two rings.
- type 4= Two rings and a vibrant flower-like pattern. They always contain a Legendary Pokémon unless the player has captured or defeated all Legendary Pokémon in the wormhole color.

shiny pokemon
The graph below shows the probability of a Shiny Pokémon spawning in each type of wormhole except Type 1. In Type 1 wormholes, the chance of finding a Shiny Pokémon is always 1%, regardless of distance traveled. Type 4 Wormholes typically contain Legendary Pokémon that do not qualify for quotas, but if the player has defeated Legendary Pokémon that match the color of the wormhole, they may encounter non-Legendary Pokémon that qualify for those quotas.

pokemon in wormholes
Below are the different Pokemon that can be found in each colored wormhole. All Pokemon found in Ultra Space are level 60.
Blue Wormholes (Water World)Legendary and Ultra Beasts
The table below shows all of the Legendary and Ultra Beast Pokémon that can be found in the different colored wormholes. Some Pokémon require the player to use a specific game or have a specific Pokémon in their party, which can be found to the right of the Pokémon's name. Before you encounter a Legendary, a silhouette of the Pokemon will appear on the edge of Ultra Space Wilds. Like normal Pokémon, all Legendary and Ultra Beast Pokémon can be found at level 60. Each Legendary Pokémon can only be caught once, while Ultra Beasts and normal Pokémon can be caught an unlimited number of times. The lengthy scene that precedes a fight with each Ultra Beast can be skipped after it has been defeated or captured once.
- The Ho-Oh available in Ultra Space has exclusive access to Burn Up, which is not available through any other means.

item delivery
Each non-Legendary Pokemon in Ultra Space Wilds can drop an item after being caught or defeated. You can save and reset before the encounter to drop an item, but the item that is dropped is determined at the wormhole entrance. This only matters for Pokemon that can drop more than 1 different item.
Blue Wormholes (Water World)Developments of the cantonal form
In Ultra Space, any Pikachu, Cubone, or Exeggcute that would normally evolve into the Alolan form of their evolution now evolves into the Cantonian form of their evolution if the requirements are met.
